Legal Gambling USA
Online casino games, poker, sports and horse racing betting websites authorized in USA
Across the nation, we have witnessed state after state legalize sports betting. While the popularity of internet casino games like slots or blackjack has grown more slowly, we still see it expanding. For anyone who would like to gamble online, this offers them another way they can do it besides driving to the casino.
Internet gambling lets the people who want to gamble online do it, and at the same time, it generates revenue for the states. In 2021, New Jersey alone brought in $1.4 billion from internet gaming. This shows us a 41 percent increase since 2020. Everyone has benefited because the individuals who want to gamble online have the opportunity to do it.
Some of the states where they made it legal to gamble online include:
Many analysts predict that due to popularity and the state revenue, we could soon see other states expand into internet gambling, which includes New York, Indiana, Iowa and Illinois.
Along with the allowance of internet gaming with slots and other casino games, they have expanded sports betting and online lottery across the nation. We see a market with plenty of room to grow. Online gaming remains in its infancy stages because many states either didn't make it legal, or they only made it legal on a limited basis. For example, states like Kansas only allow for sports betting. That shows that we still have plenty of room to run in rolling this out to people across the United States.
In the states where they made sports betting legal, we have seen political candidates run on the platform of making online casino games legal. Currently, 31 states allow for sports betting at a minimum. New Jersey shows us an example of a highly successful campaign where since it launched nine years ago, the state has generated $4.79 billion in revenue.
Other states have shown even more promise because they pulled in greater revenue in a fraction of the time. For example, since 2019, Pennsylvania has generated $2.47 billion. Michigan has made $2 billion since 2021. Those figures only account for casino games, and it doesn't look at sports betting or the online lottery. The rate of revenue has steadily expanded and the states where they have legalized online gambling has grown at least on some level.
This shows us a point where we remain closer to the beginning than the end of the expansion of internet gambling. You don't see every state willing to go as far as to legalize online casino games like slots and blackjack, but many expressed a willingness to legalize sports betting at the least. At the same time, we haven't seen the end of this wave to make sports betting legal. Some people are also concerned that internet gambling could cannibalize actual casinos, which is what they may be trying to avoid with the legalization of online gambling.
