PokerStars has received the attack of one of the California tribes that really is trying to stop poker in the Golden State. But PokerStars, online poker room from international gambling firm Amaya, has its own strategy to fight back the attacks from this and other anti online poker groups in the United States, in particular, land based casinos’ owned by moguls and Native American tribes. The monopoly that these land based casinos have created throughout all these past decades is getting to an end as, online gambling is pushing hard to reopen the US market. But some casinos have realized that online gambling is bringing business to their own door steps, as poker tournaments need of land based casinos to hold the final steps of the competitions. In order for PokerStars and many other sites and casinos to be able to have a chance developing the online poker market in the Golden State, they have created the initiative Californians for Responsible iPoker, a website where Californians can follow the battle for online poker decriminalization process in the Golden State.
California State is not really thinking on any online poker bill for this year; California Senate has been clear on this matter. But on the other hand, Californians for Responsible iPoker is pushing the envelope with these types of initiatives to put the Senate against the ropes. The attack from California Native American tribe against PokerStars has been the latest of the offensive acts against online poker. The online poker market, represented by californians4ipoker.com, has replied to this attack. The site has been one, or most likely the only one support for bringing online poker legislature into California, has brought Californians together, those who really want to regulate online poker market. The site is also serving as one of the most resourceful spots for online poker players and advocates. The coalition main interest is basically pushing for legislated online poker in the Golden State, a coalition formed by strong names from the gambling market: Poker Stars, The Morongo Band of Mission Indians, The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, Bicycle Casino, Commerce Casino and Hawaiian Gardens Casino.
